Auto-identifying duplicate contacts
For whatever reason, we have multiple entries for the same exact contact. We've checked all of our settings and all are shared. Yet this still happens. As we create a contact, there should be a way for the system to identify that the information being entered is already associated with a contact in existence. Almost like auto-populating or auto-completion that we see on search engines. And this needs to be a feature that doesn't go away once we regularly clear our cache.

Cody Hayes MergedThere have been problems with duplicate Primary Client contacts being created by firm members, possibly through outlook, but this has caused problems with billing and calls into support. Perhaps when creating a contact, a search could be performed (across firm and individual team member contacts) to confirm that a duplicate contact is not being created.

Donald LowreyAbsolutely. It should be automatic. "There is already a contact with the same name, create new contact?"

Sharon DyerSomething similar to what Outlook does, right? Doesn't it pop up with a suggested contact that is the same or similar?

Phil SternThe system will have to check for a "match" but it depends on what fields have to match. I'd suggest is to have a user setting which will allow the user to decide which contact fields to match.

Pat MergedStill have major duplicate contacts and differences between "Administrator" and across firm's contact lists. Still unable to check contact conflict in a timely manner (during the time phone call with potential new consult). Contacts put in individual member do not appear in Administrator.
